Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and who sees it. In short: only what the service needs, we do not sell it, and we hold neither card details nor ID photographs.

What we collect

የምንሰበስበው መረጃ

  • Phone number: to verify your account, to sign in, and so buyers can call you. It appears on your listing, which is your own choice. From its country code we derive your region (Ethiopia or elsewhere), which decides the currency shown to you.
  • Account details: name, username, email if you give one, your city if you choose one, your account type (individual or merchant), and your password — stored only as a one-way hash; we never see the password itself.
  • Telegram: your Telegram user ID, your Telegram username if you have one, and the phone number you yourself share inside our bot — to verify your phone and to sign in with Telegram. We do not see your messages or contacts. (See "Signing in with Telegram" below.)
  • Google (only if you link it): your Google account ID and email address. (See "Signing in with Google" below.)
  • What you post: listing text, price, area, photos and videos; messages sent inside the platform (kept with your account; your phone number is not shown to the other side through chat); the reviews you write and the reports you file (reason and details).
  • Payment activity: top-up amounts, the transaction reference you enter, your wallet balance and your transaction history. We never hold card details.
  • Your record of consent: when you accept the Terms (at signup or when signing in with Telegram) we record which versions you accepted, when, in which language, and the IP address and browser identifier (user-agent) of that request. When you sign in with Telegram the same IP address is also held on the unfinished sign-in row until the sign-in completes (when it moves into the consent record) or is swept a day after it expires. We store your IP address nowhere else; beyond that it is held only briefly in server memory to limit abuse (floods of sign-ups, posts or messages).
  • Notifications (only if you turn them on): your browser's push endpoint, its encryption keys and your browser identifier, to deliver notifications. You can turn them off at any time, and they are deleted with your account.
  • Visit counts: a random identifier your browser keeps, used to count page visits and listing views. It is not linked to your account and does not identify you.
  • Cookies: two only — your sign-in session and your chosen language. No advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.
  • Moderation records: the reason if your account is suspended, and a log of administrative actions taken on your listings or account.

  • የክፍያ እንቅስቃሴ፦ የሂሳብ መሙያ መጠን፣ እርስዎ ያስገቡት የግብይት ማጣቀሻ ቁጥር፣ የኪስ ቦርሳዎ ቀሪ ሂሳብ እና የግብይት ታሪክዎ። የባንክ ካርድ መረጃ ፈጽሞ አንይዝም።
  • የፈቃድ መዝገብ፦ ውሎቹን ሲቀበሉ (መለያ ሲከፍቱ ወይም በቴሌግራም ሲገቡ) የትኞቹን ስሪቶች እንደተቀበሉ፣ መቼ፣ በየትኛው ቋንቋ፣ እንዲሁም የዚያ ጥያቄ የአይፒ አድራሻ እና የአሳሽዎ መለያ ጽሑፍ (user-agent)። በቴሌግራም ሲገቡ፣ ያልተጠናቀቀው የመግቢያ ሙከራ ረድፍ ላይም ያው የአይፒ አድራሻ ይያዛል፤ መግቢያው ሲጠናቀቅ ወደ ፈቃድ መዝገቡ ይዛወራል፣ ካልተጠናቀቀ ደግሞ ከአንድ ቀን በኋላ ከረድፉ ጋር ይሰረዛል። ከዚህ ውጭ የአይፒ አድራሻዎን በሌላ ቦታ አናከማችም፤ ጥቃትን ለመገደብ (ብዙ ምዝገባ፣ ልጥፍ ወይም መልእክት) በሰርቨሩ ማህደረ ትውስታ ውስጥ ብቻ ለአጭር ጊዜ ይያዛል።
  • ማሳወቂያ (ካበሩት ብቻ)፦ የአሳሽዎ የማሳወቂያ አድራሻ (push endpoint)፣ የምስጢር ኮድ ቁልፎቹ እና የአሳሽዎ መለያ ጽሑፍ — ማሳወቂያ ለመላክ። በማንኛውም ጊዜ ማጥፋት ይችላሉ፤ መለያዎን ሲያጠፉም ይሰረዛል።
  • የጎብኚ ቁጥር፦ አሳሽዎ የሚይዘው በዘፈቀደ የተፈጠረ መለያ ጽሑፍ፣ የገጽ ጉብኝቶችንና የማስታወቂያ እይታዎችን ለመቁጠር። ከመለያዎ ጋር አልተያያዘም፤ ማንነትዎን አይገልጽም።
  • ኩኪዎች፦ ሁለት ብቻ፤ የመግቢያ ክፍለ ጊዜዎ እና የመረጡት ቋንቋ። የማስታወቂያ ኩኪዎች ወይም የሶስተኛ ወገን መከታተያዎች የሉም።
  • የአስተዳደር መዝገብ፦ መለያዎ ከታገደ ምክንያቱ፣ እና በማስታወቂያዎ ወይም መለያዎ ላይ የተወሰዱ የአስተዳደር እርምጃዎች መዝገብ።

What we do not collect

የማንሰበስበው

  • No card numbers and no payment credentials. Payment happens directly through telebirr or a bank.
  • No ID photographs and no ID numbers. Where identity is verified, the check happens inside the national ID system and only the result is recorded.
  • No GPS or location tracking.
  • No third-party analytics or advertising trackers (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, nothing of the kind); the site's content-security policy does not allow anyone else's script to load.
  • We do not read your Telegram messages or contacts, and we collect no device fingerprint beyond the identifier your browser itself sends.

Who we share it with

ለማን እንደምናጋራው

  • Your phone number is visible to anyone who opens your listing. If you would rather it were not, use the in-platform chat instead.
  • When your listing is posted to our Telegram channel, its title, price, area and photo go with it.
  • If you turn on notifications, they are delivered through your browser's push service (Google, Apple or Mozilla, depending on your browser), with the content encrypted. When you sign in or verify through Telegram, Telegram sees your interaction with our bot.
  • Where criminal conduct is suspected or a lawful request is received, we pass information to law enforcement.
  • We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers.
  • ስልክ ቁጥርዎ በማስታወቂያዎ ላይ ለሚያዩት ሁሉ ይታያል። ካልፈለጉ በመድረኩ ውይይት ብቻ ይጠቀሙ።

  • የወንጀል ጥርጣሬ ሲኖር ወይም ሕጋዊ ጥያቄ ሲቀርብ መረጃውን ለሕግ አስከባሪ አካላት እናስተላልፋለን።
  • መረጃዎን ለማንም አንሸጥም፤ ለማስታወቂያ ኩባንያዎችም አናጋራም።

Signing in with Google

በGoogle መግባት

  • When you sign in with Google, Google sends us your name, email address and profile picture; we store only your Google account ID and your email address — the name and picture are not kept. We never see your password.
  • Linking a Google account is optional. It exists so you can recover your account if you lose your phone number.
  • You can disconnect it at any time from your account page.

Signing in with Telegram

በቴሌግራም መግባት

  • When you sign in with Telegram we receive, from Telegram, your Telegram user ID, the phone number you yourself share inside our bot, and your Telegram username if you have one — and nothing else. We do not see your messages, your contacts, or anything else.
  • If no account exists for that number, your first sign-in creates it: that is your registration. A notice next to the sign-in button says so; pressing the button is your acceptance of the Terms and of this policy.
  • We record that consent: the account it created or matched, your Telegram user ID, the time of consent (UTC), the language you were shown, the IP address and browser identifier (user-agent) of the request that started the sign-in, the versions of the Terms and of this policy you were shown, and the identifier of the authentication proof. The record is not edited afterwards, is kept while your account exists, and is deleted when you delete your account.
  • A sign-in that is started but never proved in Telegram creates no account and is deleted after a day.

Your choices

  • You can edit or delete a listing at any time.
  • Closing your account removes your listings, photos and videos.
  • Expired listings are deleted automatically, with their photos and videos, after the retention period set in the platform.
  • You can turn notifications off at any time, from your account page or your browser's settings.
  • If you have a question about your data, contact us at the address on this page.

Where your data is stored

መረጃዎ የት ይቀመጣል

  • Your personal data is stored and processed on servers located in Vienna, Austria, within the European Union, and may be accessed by Nigat LLC from the United States. This means your data leaves Ethiopia.
  • Austria applies the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation, one of the strictest data protection standards in the world. We use encryption in transit and at rest.
  • By creating an account you consent to your personal data being transferred to, stored in, and processed in Austria and the United States, having been informed that these countries are outside Ethiopia and that different laws apply there.
  • የግል መረጃዎ የሚቀመጠውና የሚቀናበረው በአውሮፓ ሕብረት ውስጥ በምትገኘው ቪየና (ኦስትሪያ) በሚገኝ ሰርቨር ላይ ነው፤ ንጋት ኤልኤልሲ ደግሞ ከአሜሪካ ሆኖ ሊያገኘው ይችላል። ይህ ማለት መረጃዎ ከኢትዮጵያ ውጭ ይወጣል ማለት ነው።

  • መለያ በመክፈት፣ እነዚህ ሀገራት ከኢትዮጵያ ውጭ መሆናቸውንና የተለየ ሕግ እንደሚከተሉ አውቀው፣ የግል መረጃዎ ወደ ኦስትሪያና አሜሪካ እንዲተላለፍ፣ እዚያ እንዲቀመጥና እንዲቀናበር ፈቃድዎን ይሰጣሉ።

Your rights over your data

በመረጃዎ ላይ ያለዎት መብት

  • You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, and delete your account and its data at any time from your account page or at ejibeeji.com/delete-account.
  • Deletion removes your listings, photos, videos and messages. Wallet and payment records are kept for as long as the law requires.
  • If your personal data is ever exposed in a security incident, we will tell you and the relevant authority without undue delay, and within 72 hours where the law requires it.
  • ስለ እርስዎ ምን መረጃ እንደያዝን መጠየቅ፣ የተሳሳተውን ማስተካከል፣ እንዲሁም መለያዎንና መረጃዎን በማንኛውም ጊዜ ከመለያ ገጽዎ ወይም በejibeeji.com/delete-account ማጥፋት ይችላሉ።
  • ማጥፋት ማስታወቂያዎችዎን፣ ፎቶዎችዎን፣ ቪዲዮዎችዎንና መልእክቶችዎን ያስወግዳል። የክፍያ መዝገቦች ሕጉ በሚጠይቀው መጠን ይቀመጣሉ።
  • የግል መረጃዎ በደህንነት ጥሰት ቢጋለጥ፣ ለእርስዎና ለሚመለከተው ባለስልጣን ያለ መዘግየት፣ ሕጉ በሚጠይቅበት ጊዜም በ72 ሰዓት ውስጥ እናሳውቃለን።
